YELLOW BIKE ACTION

Home: Welcome

ABOUT US

Founded in 1999, Yellow Bike Action is a volunteer-run, non-profit bicycle shop and bicycle recycling centre which aims to increase ridership and make cycling more accessible in the Kingston community. Our mission encompasses 3 areas of operation. (1) First, we sell refurbished bikes, used bike parts, and provide affordable bicycle repair.  (2) Second, we provide bike education to our community on the topics of bicycle maintenance, safety, security, and best practices. (3) Third, we work to divert waste from landfills by upcycling and recycling bikes in disrepair. We achieve all of this through financial donations as well as donations of bicycles and parts from community members.

We work out of 2 locations on the Memorial Centre grounds. Our Main Shop, located in room 124 of the Memorial Centre; and the barn, located in the back end of the RB Ness Barn. Our work aims to keep as many bicycles and riders on the road safely and as inexpensively as possible.  Annually we receive many bikes from Queen's Campus, Canadian Forces Base Kingston, condo owners and operators, and community members.
